  18. I. About EasyFetcher.
  19.  
  20.   EasyFetcher is a file-retrieving utility for Internet/intranet
  21. to be used with Windows 95/NT 4.0 or later. No more waiting for
  22. a huge browser to start up just to get a file from the Internet.
  23. If you know the exact URL (Uniform Resource Locator) of the 
  24. document (both HTTP and FTP servers are supported), just type
  25. it in and hit Enter. EasyFetcher will automatically connect to
  26. the server using the appropriate protocol, while showing you at
  27. a glance what it's doing, including the following information
  28. during the download: the size of the file (great majority of the
  29. time; if server uses non-standard return codes this info is not
  30. available), bytes transferred, retrieval rate (in bytes per 
  31. second) and estimated time left. The option of opening the file
  32. automatically after the transfer is also available.
  33. Support for command-line arguments allows you to run the program
  34. unattended in batch mode while logging the results. Be sure to
  35. read the 'Usage.txt' file for complete information on usage.
  36. The program was written in Visual C++ 5.0 and does not require
  37. any support files besides the usual Windows system files, and 
  38. of course the 'Wsock32.dll' file (either supplied by your ISP -
  39. Internet Service Provider, or installed by Windows). Being a
  40. 32-bit program, it does require either Windows 95 or Windows NT
  41. 4.0 or later and will not run on any earlier version of Windows.

  44. Added the -o switch. Modified internal workings of the
  45. program slightly to support a wider range of nonstandard
  46. HTTP responses.

  48. Added command-line argument support. Fixed an access
  49. violation bug which occurred at times when EasyFetcher
  50. was attempted to be used while not online.

  55.   A distribution of this program should include the following:

  66. sites.  Only the unmodified .zip file may be distributed.

  68.   charge a fee for the package, except a nominal fee for the media;

  74. III. Installing/uninstalling/upgrading.

  76.   To install EasyFetcher simply copy the 4 files indicated 
  77. above to a directory of your choice and create shortcuts to 
  78. the executable file (ezfetch.exe), 'Readme.txt', 'Usage.txt',
  79. and 'Register.txt' (Click on each of these files in Windows
  80. Explorer while holding Control, drag them to the Start button,
  81. and release after navigating to a folder of your choice.)
  82. This is a maintenance release from version 1.5. If you already
  83. registered any version of the program from 1.0 to 1.5 this
  84. release will work automatically.
  85. To uninstall delete the 4 program files and the shortcuts.

  89. IV. Registration information.

  91.   This software is provided as shareware. Although it is fully
  92. functional as it is, unregistered use is limited to 20 days. 
  93. After this evaluation period the program will stop working and 
  94. will only start to allow registration. After you register, the
  95. use of EasyFetcher is unlimited subject to conditions in this
  96. document. The registration fee is $10 (in US dollars). After 
  97. registration the introductory shareware notices will disappear.

  99. program (including support options and new versions availability)
  100. via e-mail. For registration details see the file 'Register.txt'.
